If you are staying at one of the many hotels and resorts in or around Walt Disney World, you will not have to worry much about having lots to see and do. Just buy Disney World tickets and you can access the many theme parks of Walt Disney World. Since there is so much to see and do, be sure to look for quality Disney World discounts so that you can see as much as possible on your budget.

Of course, the many park of Walt Disney World is The Magic Kingdom, and its main showpiece and landmark is Cinderella Castle. This is a children’s haven and provides many hours or days of fun as you explore all the “lands” around the castle. The Magic Kingdom is home to the famous “it’s a small world” ride. Another famous ride in this area is the log ride known as Splash Mountain. The Swiss Family Treehouse is a walk through exhibit. The Haunted Mansion, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are all indoor dark rides. Cinderella’s Golden Carousel is a famous horse carousel, and Mickey’s Philharmagic is a 3D movie feature. Magic Kingdom also has many shows as well as vendors and souvenirs. Disney characters often wander through the park. When the park closes, there is a fireworks show, which is a crowded but very fun event.

Once you have seen Magic Kingdom, you may wish to see Epcot, which is an educational theme park all about technology and progress. The flagship exhibit of Epcot is the Spaceship Earth geodesic sphere. Epcot is divided into “Future World” and “World Showcase.” World Showcase educates visitors about international locations. Each country represented has a ride or exhibit that is more about fun than learning and each country has a restaurant or food areas that lets you sample ethnic cuisine. Various Dinsey characters appear in specific areas of the World Showcase. For example, Winnie the Pooh is at the UK area, Beauty and the Beast can be found in the France area, Aladdin can be found in the Morocco area, Snow White can be found in Germany, Mulan is to be found in the China area, The Three Caballeros are found in the Mexico area and Pinocchio is in the Italy section. Future World is all about future technology. Here, you can go through tests of new cars, experience a Mars “mission” or go on a ride that takes you through the history of communication. Epcot appeals to both adults and children.

Once you have seen Epcot and Magic Kingdom, you may wish to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theme park is all about 20th-century movies and television, and boasts many live shows and attractions. One of the most popular attractions in this park is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, a 13-story-high vertical drop. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster boasts a horizontal launch. A live action stunt show in the park recreates scenes from ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and a 3D movie in the park shows the Muppet characters. This park is also home to Star Tours, which is the only existing official Star Wars ride.

Once you have your Disney World tickets in hand and once you have spent some time searching for the best Disney World discounts so that you can get the most fun for your vacation dollar, you may think you have most of your Disney trip planned out. This is not necessarily the case. Disney World is a huge theme park and getting there and getting around can be tricky. You will want to plan ahead to make sure that you do not waste any vacation time being lost.

If you are arriving from outside the state, you will likely be flying in. Try to find a flight that takes you to the Orlando International Airport. This is the closest airport to Disney World and allows you to access the theme park by car, taxi, limo, town car, or free Disney’s Magical Express. If you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World hotels, be sure to ask about Disney’s Magical Express. You need to book ahead by phone, but it will save you some money you can put towards you vacation. If you are renting a car at the airport, travel by Florida State Routes 528 and 417 to Interstate 4, which will take you directly into Walt Disney World.

If you are flying in from International destinations, you may not be able to find a convenient flight into the Orlando International Airport. If this is the case, take a flight into the Orlando-Sanford International Airport. It is further away from the park than Orlando International, and Disney’s Magical Express service does not service this airport. Nevertheless, if this is where you land you will want to take your taxi or car along Florida State Routes 46 and 417 to Interstate 4 and into the theme park.

If you do not wish to fly, Amtrak, Auto Train, and Greyhound all have routes that take you close to the theme park.

Once you arrive at Walt Disney World, getting around will be quite easy since the park provides walking areas and driving areas as well as buses, monorails, and ferryboats. Walkways connect Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Swan & Dolphin resort, Yacht & Beach Clubs, and Boardwalk, so you can conveniently walk between these areas. Downtown Disney and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are also connected by walkways. You can easily rent strollers and wheelchairs at the entrance of every park, if anyone in your group needs help getting around.

Buses within the theme park can take you wherever you want to go inside Walt Disney World. However, keep in mind that if time is a constraint, a rented car may let you see more in less time. Also, by renting a car, you may be able to dine outside of the theme park, which can save you money substantially. If time is a problem, if you want to see attractions outside of Disney World, or if you want to enjoy cheaper food and souvenirs outside the parks, rent a car. You can also get a less expensive hotel outside the theme parks and travel in by car. Do the math to see if this will save you money.
